S.O. SWING ORCHESTRA
Radio songs
Style: swing Italian music
Line up: 3 singers – wind quartet – string quartet – keyboards – guitar – bass – percussion – drums
The S.O. Swing Orchestra was founded in October 2003 and represents the combination of two great passions, that of swing and that of Italian melodic music. The running thread of the performance is radio – the instrument which the orchestra tunes into for the purpose of remembering and acknowledging the history of Italian songs.
The sonority and style of American Big Bands, from Frank Sinatra to Billie Holiday and Glenn Miller, make a countermelody to songs by Carosone, Mina, Celentano, Quartetto Cetra and many others.
The S.O. Swing Orchestra performs engaging concerts that plunge the audience in an 1950s atmosphere resembling Canzonissima and the early years of the Sanremo Festival.
A small stage setting of 10 components can also be arranged.
