SERGINHO DJ

Serginho dj (Sergio Cossu) is mainly known as a musician, songwriter and producer. He has written for Enzo Jannacci, Miguel Bosè, as well as others. From 1984 to 1999 he was a member of the group Matia Bazar with whom he recorded 9 albums, participated in 4 Sanremo Fesitivals, and performed live, as well as on television, in locations around the world

The music he selects does not follow one single canon. It largely reflects what in jazz is called interplay, namely the ability to interpret the mood and atmosphere of a given place and audience, and to adjust the architectural sound by receiving and sending out specific sensations, scents and feelings.

His repertoire ranges from rhythm’n’blues of the 1960s and ‘70s to film soundtracks of all eras, from Italian songs of the ‘30s to American torch songs of the ‘40s and ‘50s (Cole Porter, Gershwin, Richard Rodgers), from Elevator Muzak of the ’60s (Bacharach, Jim Webb) to French songs, from good Jazz, Beatles, Sakamoto, Jobim, Nick Drake…and if the atmosphere is right and there is a desire to dance, he can provide a mix of ‘70s disco, ‘80s electro-pop, and “battle” rock.
